A Blogging Birthday

July 1, 2014

I have been blogging for 9 YEARS TODAY.

My blog isn’t that old – for reasons previously discussed – but on this date 9 years ago I hit a button on a Blogger blog that said something along the lines of “Start New Blog’. I can remember exactly where I was sitting at the time. (at work. Hush).

I am forever prattling on about how much has happened since then so I won’t go on.

But I do want to say a humungous…..

THANK YOU

Thank you for reading. Thank you for commenting when you have time or something to say. Thank you for just being the person out there, reading, making me feel that I am not alone. Many things have made me very happy over the past nine years and some things have knocked me and made me a bit wobbly. True friends are there through the good and the bad, and I know that a lot of you have been quietly reading along for a long time – since Piran was born (FIVE, he’s almost FIVE) or even before and I cannot thank you enough for your kind words, on blogs, on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and here, in this Place of My Own*.

And it wouldn’t be a celebration without a present of some kind so this one is for you. Did you see yesterday’s mini quilt?

Dreamy love mini quilt

One of the best parts of making this was making it with a specific person in mind. And so I thought to celebrate this little milestone I would run a competition for someone else to have a bespoke mini quilt made by me, especially for them. One of a kind, handmade by me.

Now obviously this is the sort of prize that you will have to wait a couple of weeks to receive but I do hope that you will enter. Everyone that enters needs to leave a blog comment giving me something to start with (colours, likes, dislikes, fabrics, favourite motifs) and then there are some other ways to get extra entries if you would like more chances to win. Open worldwide.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED. Congratulations to Snafflesmummy who won the mini quilt.

*did you see what I did there? *proud face*

Happy blogiversary! Wow – 9 years! Your quilts are blooming stunning. I’m in love with mint, yellow and grey at the moment as we start to plan the nursery decorating scheme. I think those colours would look gorgeous in a quilt. x
