Squigler’s room is a funny L shape – up until recently we used it as the office, with a desk that was mainly to rest the printer on and an obstacle course of boxes and books because really it was just where we put everything that didn’t really have a place!
The room itself has a large cupboard in it which is actually above the stairs. It did have a door on it when we moved in but every time you opened the door it hit the light fitting in the middle of the room. Not very practical! When we added some shelves to the cupboard I made a curtain as a door covering and so it has stayed for the past two years. It was all a little boring so in a fit of inspiration I decided that I would brighten it up. To save money I decided to use the existing curtain but I have just bought material with animals on it and cut them out, then stuck them down with iron on hemming tape and sewn around the edges. The end result is a little rustic but I like it.
It is hard to get a picture of the whole curtain. This was the best I could get yesterday.
So here are two close ups as well. The bottom half:
The top half:
The next project is making some pictures of the same animals to go on the walls!
