Catch up

December 21, 2006

I have pretty much failed on the Holidailies thing this year. The main problem has been the fact that I am now unable to really post from work. Worse than that I cannot comment on your blogs at work now either. After a whole day of staring at a computer screen it is hard to get myself to switch on the computer at night.

Well as of tomorrow I am on holiday for Christmas – until January 2nd. However I will probably have even less time! It is all go as of tomorrow!! After work we have dinner at Paul’s parents and then we are out for drinks for his sister’s birthday. Saturday we have Paul’s Godson’s 2nd Birthday party, have to pick up the chicken, my parents arrive and then we are going out to dinner that night. Then Christmas can begin properly.

I think everything is done – I need to plan what I am cooking and when but I can do that Christmas Eve. I still have some shopping to do, just a few last bits that we couldn’t get tonight.

A million things keep running around in our heads! We got the official letter through from the estate agent today with the offer on the house and we have been and seen the bank today and the mortgage offer is agreed. So now all we can so is wait until January for the survey and the reports to make sure that the house is okay and the bank is happy to lend money against it. The seller wants us to complete as soon as possible so it will be all go in January.

It is very cold this week. We have had freezing fog every day and the past two days it didn’t lift at all. It is causing chaos at the airports, poor people that have been delayed for days and the news is full of it. It is terrible at this time of year, I feel so sorry for all those people that want to get home or to family for Christmas. I hope that everyone gets to where they need to be with as little trouble as possible. It must be so miserable to be stranded and worried that you will not make it.

Tomorrow is the last day at work and our department has decided to wear silly hats and wigs etc to mark the occasion. It should be a fun day actually. If I can I will take a few pictures to post.

Merry Christmas to everyone, just in case this is the last time you read before the big day!

Congrats on the house! Very exciting news. Next you’ll either be pregnant or getting married. Can’t wait for news of that!
