Come out, come out, whoever you are!

January 10, 2010

So, I have been at this blogging lark for some time and a few years ago I remember there being something called de-lurking day or week. I seem to remember it being the 10th January but through the power of Google I have been unable to find anything official but I did find a few posts referencing it so I have decided that the 10th January will be the start of de-lurking week on my blog.

According to my stats I have quite a lot more subscribers than I have comments so for one day I would love it if you could say hi. If you don’t know what to say please tell me your favourite book or recommend a book for me to read. Because I love comments and I love books. I also love blogs so if you leave a comment I promise to come and visit your blog.
If you are one of my lovely blogging friends that usually comments – thank you.
Happy De-lurking day.

    Happy de-lurking day!

I've just started a new blog as I'm learning photography. Not very full yet but there is a photo on there of sunset over a Cornish beach on Christmas day…

I can recommend any of the books by the authors of “The Gruffalo” (Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler). Great to read out loud from any age 🙂

I'm not a lurker, just a really poor commenter!

If you don't have them already, you must get lots of Hairy McClary books for Piran, by Lynley Dodd. They are brilliant – lovely pictures, but more importantly excellent rhyming words, which I find the younger ones love. And then they love them when they're learning to read, too, because they know/can work out the words that are coming and 'read' them, until they can actually read them. (And they're fun to read, too.)

Eleanor has already been started on them.

    Hehehee! Great idea!

    Not a lurker either.

What book shall I recommend…hmmmmmm. OK today I shall recommend The Camomile Lawn by Mary Wesley. A story of 5 cousins growing up during WW2.

    Officially de-lurked.

I've just finished reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski which I loved. Quite a slow book though, one to lose yourself in. x

I comment occasionally, so I suppose I don’t count. But I will get the ball rolling because I am nice like that.

I comment a lot so here is another useless comment for your post today.
