The end of 2005

December 31, 2005

When I was looking for an address is my little red book that contains my entire life I found a page where I wrote down my New Year’s Resolutions for 2005. I never usually make resolutions but last year it just felt right at the time. So here they are:

Stop Smoking: FAILED. Well I managed this for 2 months then hrmones made me crazy and smoking started again. Attempt 2 early next year.

Do 1 ‘Cultured’ thing a month: SUCCESS. I think I actually managed this. There were museum trips, opera, art galleries and lots of music this year. It might not have been exactly one per month but I did get out quite a bit!

Try to write / draw more: SUCCESS. Started blog. The End!

Read More: SUCCESS. I definately found myself remembering how much I loved reading and have had great enjoyment from it this year.

Watch less TV: UNDECIDED. I watched less over the summer but now it is cold and wet I can be foound slumped in front of the TV much more often!

Try new recipies: FAILURE. I think I can remember making about 3 things that I had never made before. Kedgeree, Pasty’s and Missippi Mud Pie. This is less than 1 every 100 days and that is totally unacceptable!

In other news, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Eeshee and Little Princess who are 28 and 9 today respectively.

Well I have a cocktail evening to plan and some balloons to blow up for Little Princess’ Birthday Party (Sez has made her a pink fairy castle cake. I am like, so jealous!). So party first with non alcoholic cocktails for the Birthday Girl and very alcoholic ones for me and the parents and then I will be seeing in the New Year with the kids (Little Princess, Cutie Pie and Monkey) all tucked up in bed and Sez and The Man and Mr & Mrs S and I drinking the fruity drinks. At Midnight I plan to be kissing my glass!!! (I really want to be with these people at New Year but me single, them all loved and sprogged up). I am not complaining and only plan on <5 secs of self pity before bursting into song and tap dancing my way around the room! Shortly after this I plan on passing out and starting 2006 as I mean to go on! Happy New Year to all of you. I wish you all great things for 2006. That has just reminded me of my first ever New Year in Brighton when I went out dressed as a fairy. I was that great pissed where you are just the most sociable person in the room and I kept telling everyone that I was The New Year Fairy and asking them what they wished for and then I would grant it by tapping them on the head with my wand. That was the night that Dancinfairy was born too! So, I stand before you dressed as the New Year Fairy. What wish can I grant you for 2006?

Ah but in Cornwall if you are proper Cornish as we like to say then it is pasty’s. Annoying I know!
