Finish Along 2014 – Quarter 1

January 17, 2014

Do you know what a WIP is?

It is a Work In Progress and I have oh so many of them. One of my ‘intentions’ for 2014 is to finish some of the projects that I have started. I have sat down and written a very long list and now I am writing this post to state my intention of joining in with the 2014 Finish Along hosted by The Littlest Thistle.

So this is my list of existing projects that I want to get finished by the end of March.

1) The Just Big Enough Blanket

This is Mr C’s Christmas present that I still haven’t finished. I will get it done soon or he won’t want it until next Autumn.

2) Aqua Butterflies

This has been basted and quilting started. Just need to finish off and bind it. Another ‘late’ Christmas present.

3) Mum’s wall quilt.

WIP name is ‘Radiant Peacock’. I have this planned out and the fabrics I just need to get making. This will be a mix of applique and machine piecing. Really want to have it done by half term but that is possibly a bit too optimistic. I am planning on entering this into the 2014 Pantone Quilt Challenge too so needs to be completed by the 14th March.

4) Set of drawstring bags

Another overdue Christmas present. I have chosen the fabric I just need to start sewing.

5)Hexagon cushions

Finish the hexagon cushions for my room. The fronts are made and I have the material and zips for the back. Front is basted but needs hand quilting and them making into cushions. This picture is from 16th January 2013. The shame!

6) Bedroom Lampshade

I have the fabric, I have the lampshade kit. Time to just DO IT.

So those are the projects that I hope I can finish in the next couple months. That is a lot but I have a crafty weekend with Kat and Heather coming up and plenty of evenings. Wish me luck.

Good luck with the list! You’ll be pleased to know though, that a 1 year old WIP is a positive infant compared to some that I’ve seen listed ;o)

Thank you for your comment. Luckily I’ve only been quilting for a couple years or I expect my WIP’s would be much bigger!

Thank you. I love that one too but it is a bit smaller than I thought it would be. Thankfully it’s for a 3 year old!
