Made it: ‘Liberty Flash’ Chevron Cushion

July 29, 2013

Today is my birthday.

After being away for almost a week and a half and being with people constantly all that time all I wanted to do was be alone and sew today.

So that is exactly what I did. It was lovely.

And this is what I made. Using solids and the occasional ‘flash’ of Liberty quilting cotton I used the Improv skills I picked up in Lu Summer’s class at the Fat Quarterly Retreat and came up with this beauty. I am really happy with how it turned out. I just cannot get enough of dreaming up an idea and putting it into practice like this.

The front is quilted with organic lines in the sashing – I didn’t want to detract from the bright colours on the front with too much quilting.

The back is an envelope closure and has a band of Liberty to tie in with the front.

This cushion is for sale for £30 plus postage. I am hoping to get it listed in my Etsy shop tomorrow, or if you would be interested leave me a comment. I am happy to work with you on a design if you would like something bespoke.

*** UPDATE *** The ‘Liberty Flash’ Chevron Cushion is now for sale in my Etsy shop.
