Moi, confused? Yep.

October 17, 2005

After my woe is me post last week I spent a lot of time this weekend trying to work out what is wrong.

We went to Beachy Head this weekend (cliff place notorious for people taking that final leap) for a gorgeous walk and we were sat at the top of the cliff and City Girl was joking around and said we should all purge everything wrong in our lives while we had our friends with us so we wouldn’t jump.

“I’ve been made redundant” Girlie Number 1

“I’m in serious debt” City Girl

“I’m hungover and I have not had enouh sleep” Hippy

And then my turn……

….NOTHING. Zilch. Nada. Zip. Nil. Nought. Zero.

There is nothing actually wrong with my life. Check the usual – Job? Great. Living situation? Fantastic. Love life? Single but at ease and happy with it.

So I am still just as confused. I just don’t feel like me.

“I’m single and going through a divorce that is actually causing more emotional pain than I thought possible but can’t seem to really care other than the fact that I have no one to sleep next to me in bed at night!”

Glad to hear it! It’s always nice to realize that things are going well.

Oh Doug. Here’s a virtual hug. They’re not as good as the real thing but it’s the best I can do.

And MsFairyLady that is great. If I’d been there though I would’ve pulled your hair just a little bit so you could’ve joined in. Because I’m nice like that.

could it be the winter blues? i sure have them at the moment, keep busy and plan some things to do. I’m planning a murder mystery birthday at my house in November if you fancy dressing up and being silly for the night!

Consider it a good thing that you have nothing to worry about and nothing that stresses you! I wish I could say the same for me!

Kate: I’m working on it. As soon as I know I will share!

Doug: Bless. Another virtual hug coming your way. Have you thought of trying sleeping diagonally?

Leonie: Gosh! I can always rely on you!

Adz: Could be! Oh, I’ve never been to one of those before, sounds like fun!

C: Yeah but something is wrong and I don’t know what it is. Usually if something makes me unhappy I cange it. How can I when I don’t know why I am sad?

When life is good, I think we look for ways to make it even better. But it is good to know what IS good about your life (I know, I have felt very much the same way lately, too) and aknowledge it every once in a while.

Maybe the cliff wasn’t supposed to be the same experience for you as it was the others. Maybe the purpose for you was to give you a chance to see how good things really are, instead.

Maybe you’re “the wanting kind”? Nothing wrong with that.

To me, it seems that it’s when things are going quite well that we luxuriate a bit in random wistfulness.

When things are going really badly, we suddenly want to drink tea out of cups decorated with cute kittens and follow fluffy American sitcoms.

Or maybe I should write “me” instead of “we”.

PS. My word verification is yeyusus, which sounds like a disparaging comment on my post.
