Nature in the home – Christmas week 2

December 12, 2013

Pine cones collected on a wonderful morning in the woods. Popped in the oven to open as per Laura’s instructions (love these firelighters, wishing we had a fire. I thought they would be good for camping next year though). I thought they were fine as they are but Piran voted strongly for a little silver sparkle. Strung up on Perle cotton and hung from the corner of the dresser. Photographing is hard but they look fabulous.

Linking up with Nature in the home at Littlegreenshed. Week 2 of Christmas was a garland.

Having so much fun with this – my crafting doesn’t usually include natural materials and I am really enjoying thinking of ideas and making myself look around.

I love pine cones at Christmas. We have an enormous one sprayed gold, given to Tom by one of his class last Christmas; it has survived an entire year and still going strong! I would love to use them for firelighters, but I can never find enough of them..
