The Perfect Weekend

February 13, 2006

I have had the best weekend a girl could ever wish for. I just wanted to relax and forget about this week and enjoy myself and that’s exactly what I did. Here are the highlights for you!

Friday night

We got our glad rags on and went out to paint the town red. It was with work people and I had been talked into organising it. I was worried that no one would turn up but in the end there were about 15 of us and we had a great time.

There was some drinking!
There were plenty of questions about me and Paul but I survived them!
I stumbled and banged my leg against a wall at one point – I have the biggest bruise on my leg!
We went somewhere specifically to dance and only danced to one song!
There was some more drinking!
There was the moment late on in the evening when I actually asked Paul what date his birthday is and it turns out it’s the day after mine. Which felt really weird but makes a lot of sense. At least I won’t forget it!

Paul came and stayed at my flat for the first time and we stayed up late chatting. The amount of times I apologised for the genral untidyness of my bedroom was eclipsed only by the amount of times I said “I don’t believe your birthday is the day after mine”.

I was a complete dork and he just laughed, didn’t run away!

Woke up, no hangover! Gorgeous man in bed!
Gave people lifts to places then stuck my washing on in the launderette and went and got myself a big fry up!
Went over to Paul’s after lunch and then we got the train to Lewes to watch Ringmer play football.
Came home and he bought me a sausage roll.
Watched the England / Ireland Rugby match.
Had a lie down.
Paul woke me up and gave me my Valentines Day present – a beautiful necklace.
He cooked me dinner.
We went to the pub.
We came home and had a couple glasses of wine.
We danced in the front room and then went to bed.

Woke up – raining outside. Gorgeous man in bed!
Made a cup of tea and went back to bed to listen to the radio.
Had a bacon and egg sandwich cooked for me and another cup of tea.
Got up at lunchtime.
I went home, chatted to G#1 and picked up my car.
Went to the pub and had a couple of beers.
He asked me if I would let him take me away for the weekend soon.
Came home and watched the Wales / Scotland Rugby match. Shouted at TV a lot.
He cooked me dinner.
We watched Lord of the Rings and then went back to bed.

All this plus the more we talked the more I realised that we have in common. He asked me a million questions about my family and even asked when he would get to meet them. He offered to come with me to the family christening that I have at the end of the month. When I got a bit wobbly about this week on Sunday night he knew without asking what was wrong and gave me big hugs.

I refuse to let this blog turn into being all about him but I want to remember every detail about this weekend. No posting for a couple days while I get the funeral out of the way but I have started on my holiday posts and I have some free time on Thursday that I plan on using to my blogging advantage.

Hope you all had great weekends.

I think you inadvertently gave P’s name away in that post! 🙂

Sounds like you had a lot of fun, and going to Ringmer, I miss Sussex sometimes!

Sorry to hear you fell over again at a work night out, you shouldn’t make a habit of it really?

Sounds like you had a great weekend. I’m glad you have someone now. Good luck. Oh, and sorry I have been a little lax in commenting. I’ve been real busy and pretty much no one has gotten comments in almost a week.
