Sweet tooth

November 14, 2005

I have a major sweet tooth and when I got to work there was a big pile of sweets for us all to share today which is nice.

So I picked Love Hearts cos they are nice and fizzy and they also have great messages on. I loved these when I was a kid.

But the purpose of my post is the one I have just pulled out of the pack that says ‘Just Say No’. No to what? Love? Sex? When I hear ‘Just Say No’ it reminds me of the song that the cast of Grange Hill released in like the 80’s which was meant to get us all to say no to drugs. But these are Love Hearts people. I am all for life affirming messages, but these are meant to be sweet and cute and about love. Like the ones in the packet that say ‘My Angel’, ‘Be Mine’.

What is the world coming to? Don’t even get me started on the ones that say ‘Text Me’…

When I think of “Just Say No” I think of the really bad 80’s TV commercials telling kids to not take drugs.

I have a big sweet tooth too. My culture is into desserts. It’s almost genetic!

Maybe the ‘Just Say No’ ones are designed for young dentists?
