Through the night

November 27, 2009

8.47pm
We are driving home from Cornwall, through the dark night. The rain has stopped for now and I can even see a few stars. The counties are passing by, Cornwall, Devon and we are currently in Somerset. I am amusing myself with the unusual place names we have seen so far:

Ventongimps
Broadwoodwidger
Curry Mallet

There were more but my eyes and brain are tired, I have just finished my first shift on the driving. I long for home and my bed but we have a way to go until then.

Hope you have a safe journey. We had a lot of fun laughing at place names when we went to Cornwall too.

    Stay safe.

My personal favourites are in Leicestershire: Sheepy Magna and Newtown Unthank. Not to mention Moira because it makes me laugh.

Ah the ever exciting road trip! I am, of course, unfamiliar with any of those names (being from the States and all), but they were quite peculiar 🙂

Ah, Curry Mallet. Not too far from Curry Rivel, and North Curry where I live. I did used to know the origins of the Curry name, but I forget now!
