Washed Earth – Autumn afternoons

September 30, 2013

Rachel at Stitched in Color is having a mosaic contest. I love these, and always intend on entering but never get round to it.

Tonight I have spent a wonderful hour or so playing around – virtual fabric shopping is always fun.

My first is all about being outside on a bright autumn afternoon. The colours of the hedges and the tress, the pavements littered with crunchy fallen leaves. The chance that the weather could change at any moment. The bright bursts of colour from rosehips and sloes. Conkers and acorns littering the ground. Watching the birds swoop through clear skies. Coming home to warm up after a walk. Thinking of home comforts and hibernating wrapped in blankets drinking tea.

Autumn really is my favourite season.

[…] Luckily you can make two entries so I really pushed myself to find a completely different colour scheme to my first one. […]
